How We Test

We check the full path, not just the button.

A useful tool should be clear before you start, steady while you use it, and honest about the result. This is the routine our team follows.

We test a tool from the first input to the final copy or download. We also check what happens when an input is incomplete, a public page is unavailable, or a platform returns less information than expected.

Before a tool is published

  1. Try the supported inputs shown on the page.
  2. Compare the preview with the final result.
  3. Check the main choices and the extra choices.
  4. Try the page on a phone-sized screen and a desktop screen.
  5. Read every message as a first-time visitor would.

Public social media tools

We use public usernames, public profile links, and public share links that we are allowed to test. We compare the result with the information visible from the public source at that time.

Private, expired, removed, or hidden content is not treated as a failed test. The tool should explain the result without guessing.

Text and image tools

We try short and long text, spaces, numbers, common symbols, and blank input. For image tools, we check PNG, JPG, and WebP files, the preview position, exact output size, background choice, and finished download.

Phones and browsers

Our routine includes touch controls, keyboard and mouse controls, narrow screens, wide screens, and current browser versions. We pay special attention to upload areas, sliders, crop controls, previews, and download buttons.

How the Snapchat status check works

The status tool checks four public Snapchat web addresses. For each one, it records whether a response arrived, the response code, the response time, and the exact check time. The page keeps the last five checks in your own browser so you can compare them.

This is a broad public web check. A regional problem, a mobile-app problem, or an account-only problem can still look different on your device.

When we check again

  • Before a new tool is published.
  • After a change to the tool or its page.
  • After a visitor reports a problem we can reproduce.
  • When a platform changes the public page or file it returns.

The “Last tested” date on a tool page shows the latest recorded review for that page. If you find a result that does not match the explanation, please tell us.
